Light-Flow Android app is collecting all the text you type, but why?

Light-Flow for android is an app used to change the notification light on your android app. When I installed the software I was informed when I enabled it that the app will collect all the information I type, but the question is why?

Also when I loaded up DDMS to take a screen shot I noticed that light-flow is almost seen as another device.
